Building on the teaching in our Fundamental course, we review specific aspects of report-writing in more detail, including preparing allegations, summarizing the investigative process, and writing more effective findings. This highly practical course will include individual and group written exercises, all designed to give participants enhanced tools to elevate the readability of their reports.
What you'll learn:
- How to draft allegations, which set the foundation for the report
- Tips for outlining/summarizing the investigation process in the report
- How to craft precise, concise, and effective factual findings and policy conclusions
- About different forms of reports, such as executive summaries, anonymized reports, and tailored versions provided to the parties
- How to write (and be kind) to the ultimate reader of your report
