About Christine Thomlinson

Christine Thomlinson is the co-founder and co-managing partner of Rubin Thomlinson LLP. With over 20 years of experience, she is a highly accomplished employment lawyer, one of the country’s foremost experts in workplace investigations, and a trusted advisor to senior human resource professionals.

Christine is renowned for her knowledge, strategic and innovative thinking, and ability to provide solutions to challenging, serious workplace issues. Recognizing that sometimes the law does not fit with a client’s business reality, Christine has a gift for exploring creative solutions, and finding the best path forward to restore harmony.

Christine and her colleagues work across the country, and have conducted various high profile investigations/reviews in workplaces such as the CBC, the Canadian Olympic Committee and the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Expertise & Services

Christine is frequently called upon to conduct investigations and assessments/reviews, as well as to advise or consult on complex, high-stakes issues pertaining to complaints of workplace harassment and other misconduct. Christine also develops Rubin Thomlinson’s extensive training curriculum, enabling employers to conduct effective workplace investigations themselves under increasing regulatory scrutiny.

Ms. Thomlinson is renowned for her seminal work on employment law, For Better or For Worse: A Practical Guide to Canadian Employment Law. Co-authored with the late Mr. Justice Randall Scott Echlin, and currently in its third edition, the text is an essential resource for human resource professionals and students across Canada.

Christine also co-authored the definitive textbook Human Resources Guide to Workplace Investigations, now in its second edition.
