About This Course
The existence of bias in the workplace serves to place marginalized employees at a distinct disadvantage. This is more difficult to address when the biases they face are not obvious and direct, but rather operating at an unconscious level.
In this interactive course, we start by exploring the ways in which unconscious biases form in our minds. We move from there to learning about the different types of bias and how they present at various points in the employment relationship. Finally, we work on developing strategies for overcoming unconscious bias at work, with a hope of reducing systemic and other forms of discrimination. Through group and other exercises, participants leave with a fuller understanding of how to recognize their own biases and strategies for addressing them.
