About Kimberly A. Smith

A fair, impartial, and thorough investigator, Kimberly Smith prides herself on creating a safe space that encourages candour, where employees can share information without fear of reprisal. She believes strongly in the ability of workplace investigations to address systemic issues such as discrimination and harassment, and she strives to create positive change in workplace cultures.

Expertise & Services

At Rubin Thomlinson, Kimberly investigates allegations of problematic work behaviour, including harassment, bullying, and any issues that may contribute to a poisoned work environment. She also provides workplace investigation and human rights training to her clients’ staff, and conducts workplace assessments and reviews.

Background

Kimberly brings both investigatory experience and a strong knowledge of employment law to Rubin Thomlinson. Previously, she worked as an associate lawyer at a boutique employment law firm, and before that as an anti-money laundering and anti-terrorist financing investigator for an accounting firm in Canada, where she reviewed bank account transactions for suspicious activity and exercised extensive due diligence.

In her spare time, Kimberly enjoys CrossFit and she volunteers as a youth mentor for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada.
