About this course

If you have taken our Basic Workplace Investigation Techniques workshop in the past and are looking to keep your skills sharp and up to date with what's new in the practice, we have designed this “Refresher” workshop for you!

This workshop will open with a review of investigation best practices, informed by recent cases and other current investigation developments. We will then focus in each class on a different type of investigation, which will be conducted as a group throughout the day-long course. In these simulated investigations, participants will practice their skills, putting into play the essential teachings and principles taught in our core Basic Workplace Investigation Techniques workshop.

In this edition of the Refresher, we will focus on an employee misconduct case. The initial complaint is brought forward by a whistleblower who has alleged employee misconduct that they believe they may have witnessed. We will also be discussing the involvement of a witness outside of the organization who is suggested as having information relevant to the allegations.
